First Strings (Guitar) — Ages 9–12

Your first chords, your first song, your first band.

You don’t need to know anything about guitar to walk in the door. In your first few weeks you’ll learn the chords behind hundreds of real songs — and then you’ll play them, together, as a group.

Each week you’ll build a little more: chords, strumming patterns, reading tab, keeping time with other players, and picking apart songs you already love to figure out how they work. It’s a jam, not a lecture. You’ll be playing alongside other kids from the very first class, which is the fastest way to get good and by far the most fun.

By the end of the term you’ll have a handful of songs you can play front to back, and you’ll perform one at our end-of-term showcase.

Guitar — bring your own if you have one. No experience necessary, and no reading music required to start.

One hour a week. Wednesdays.

Try it first — come to a class on Wednesday, September 9, 3:45–4:45pm for $15. If you love it, we’ll put that $15 toward your term tuition.
